Palms is a 36-hole "oasis of palms" in a spectacular tropical
setting. Just a few years old, this course is already a southwest Florida
favorite. The Azinger/Lewis design has an aqua range situated around a
38-acre lake.
The grand entrance to Heritage Palms Country Club is an added attraction.
The boulevard entrance focuses on a 12-foot high waterfall that cascades
down to a rock pool. Cradled above the waterfall is the setting for one
of the golf course tees.
Some golfers believe the Sabal is tougher than the Royal, thanks to
a string of three difficult holes -- No. 7, 8 and 9. Otherwise, the rest
of the holes on the two courses are comparable. Overall, the greens and
landing areas are very generous and player friendly.
The two courses feature undulating fairways and tiered greens with many
bunkers and water hazards.
